If you book through the Housing Office of the University of St.Gallen you will benefit in several ways. All the rooms and studios are furnished and the kitchens are all fully equipped.

NEWS: Arrival in Switzerland

Check here if you are travelling to Switzerland from a country or region with a high risk of infection.

- If you are arriving from a region with a high risk of infection by plane, car, train, bus, ship: present a valid proof of a negative PCR test (not older than 72 hours)
- If you are arriving from a region without high risk of infection by car, train, bus, ship: no PCR test is required; arriving by plane: present a valid proof of a negative PCR test (not older than 72 hours)

Infrastructure of the Rooms and Flats

All bedrooms have modern furnishings and offer the following interiors:
•Single bed with mattress, pillow, duvet and bed linen
•Benefit: Bedlinen can be given to an external company for laundering every two weeks, free of charge
•Desk with chair and table lamp

All other rooms offer the following interiors:
•WLAN/WiFi in all rooms
•Benefit: Cleaning kit containing various cleaning products
•Caretaker on hand for minor repairs to properties
•Various shopping facilities are in the immediate vicinity or reachable by bus
•Laundry: Communal laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer, mostly free of charge

University neighbourhood: the most distant property is twenty minutes from the university by bus.



Kitchens are fully equipped with:
•Cooker with ceramic hob
•Oven and microwave
•Fridge with freezer compartment
•Kettle, crockery and pans
•Cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaner, mop, etc.


Rental price includes:

•Electricity, heating and water
•Television fees
•Washing machine and tumble dryer (mostly free)
•Cleaning of general areas by external cleaning company
•No rental deposit
•No surcharges for short term rentals


Housing application

If you want to apply for housing through the University, you must complete the housing application in your Mobility-Online account by the deadline and include a copy of the bank transfer confirmation for the non-refundable application fee of CHF 250.-.



The housing office organises a private liability insurance for its students who do not already have one. The insurance covers bodily injury and damages suffered by a third party as a result of your behaviour in your private life. The insurance also covers financial losses where these are attributable to an insured person or property damage.
